What is a Sri Lankan Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)?
An ETA visa is an official authorization granted by the Sri Lankan Department of Immigration & Emigration. They are issued electronically and for the purpose of short visits to Sri Lanka. There is no need to visit an embassy as you can simply apply for your visa online.
The current ETA system was introduced and has been in effect since the 1st (Sunday) of January 2012. The intention of the implementation of the new ETA system is to provide a simplified, reliable and highly efficient service to the foreign nationals who visit Sri Lanka. The holder of an ETA is eligible to receive a 30 day Short Visit Visa at his/her respective port of entry to Sri Lanka.*
Sri Lankan ETAs are issued through an on-line system. No documents such as passport copies, photographs nor any other kind are required to apply for an ETA. Moreover, it is not required to endorse your passport with the ETA. Please note that the official Sri Lankan Government ETA website is available at www.eta.gov.lk, where you will be able to obtain a visa without paying an additional service fee for application review and support. We are just a visa processing company that helps you save time and frustration.
